Glitter is something I love to work with. It's sparkly, it's fun, and these tiny little pieces of crushed stars make any project shine! In this post I wanted to show you how great rubber stamps and glitter work together. Here I made a card for Mardi Gras, but you can adapt this tutorial for any card craft or season.
I find it easier to control the amount of glue that goes on to the stamp if I gently tap the pad onto the rubber. If you put too much glue it may not stamp clearly and too little there won't be enough to hold the glitter. Practice on a blank sheet of paper first so you know the right amount of glue to use.
Firmly stamp onto your card being careful to not slid the stamp on the paper. The glue has a different texture than standard ink does and can have a tendency to slide.
Shake the glitter onto your freshly stamped glue, completely covering the image.
Do one color at a time and shake off the glitter between colors so they don't mix.
Continue stamping until you are happy with your composition. Then dust off the rest of the glitter for your final reveal!
Be sure to clean of your stamps with a damp paper towel. You don't want the glue drying on the rubber or leaving it tacky.
Happy Carnival my friends and happy stamping!
